Welcome! I’m Melanie Lloyd, I’ve been a teacher since 2001 and am so happy you’re here with me!
I love create learning activities for K-3 classrooms and children.
Created by me from scratch, most of our printables start with one of my hand drawn scrappy sketches.
My bright, happy learning activities will keep your students engaged and hit the mark on concepts.
I teach in a casual-relief capacity this year so I can focus mostly on helping you - I’m only an email away!
The From the Pond Difference
I put my first ‘pond’ sketch onto paper in 2004. Ever since, I’ve have been making printable activities and resources. Student engagement is at the heart of everything we do.
I plan, create, design, test and release every single page of every single resource, personally.
Every printable, post and image you see here and on our social media is directly from me. This allows me to transfer and infuse my design principles - clear, consistent, clever, cute and creative through every thing I make and directly into your classroom program!
I was the first creator of niche teacher-specific clipart for educational printables. I knew what was needed and learnt how to create them after years of trying to source them myself. Along with other early sellers on TpT I shared and encouraged other teachers to build online community and make the vibrant creator-community you see today.
Just what you need
I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve been told this is just what I need, it hits the mark exactly at the skill level.
I love breaking down concepts into small achievable chunks for students and infuse that into my designs.
I can quickly isolate the aspects that will most readily scaffold children to the next achievement level. My design process naturally adds the engagement to those scaffolds. This combines to create a ‘catch’ for learning - that ‘aha moment’. This is most often with fun but functional visual support. It is not ‘just cute’. Overwhelmingly feedback from you tells us that this goal of ours, shines through my designs, and it also translates to student engagement.
Serious learning, disguised as fun! That is indeed, my sweet spot, and I stick to it.
